Tchai Chat with Silvano:
From Furniture Maker to Project Manager
11-Years and Counting
In just a month, Silvano will have been working at Tchai for 11 years. His journey with the company began when he submitted an open application for the role of work planner, transitioning from his previous job as a furniture maker. With a background in woodworking and having earned his diplomas from the Wood and Furniture College in Rotterdam, Silvano decided at the age of 24 to explore a different side of the industry. That decision led him to Tchai, where his role evolved into something much bigger.
Leading Large Scale Projects with JBL
Today, Silvano thrives as a Project Manager, overseeing large-scale projects and working closely with one of the most exciting brands: JBL. From coordinating the production of 1000 displays to managing the build of a complete JBL store in Denmark, Silvano embraces every challenge with enthusiasm. He loves the dynamic nature of his job, especially the opportunity to test and provide feedback on new JBL products—often being among the first to experience them.
Work-life balance
A typical workday for Silvano is anything but typical. His schedule is packed with meetings, production oversight, and travel—sometimes abroad, where he personally oversees store setups and production processes. Despite the high pace, Silvano balances his work life with personal passions. An avid surfer, he finds time to catch waves after a busy day, and kickboxing has been a part of his life for eight years. Recently, since becoming a father to his son Ted, he's embraced the joys of fatherhood, spending as much quality time as he can with his little one.
Dedication and Growth
Silvano’s journey at Tchai showcases not just his dedication to his craft but also his passion for embracing new opportunities. From starting as a work planner to becoming the go-to Project Manager for JBL, Silvano is a vital part of the Tchai family.
